Why would i need to know this ?

Well if you have ever moved a joomla site from it's current possition to a new server you will need to change the server details in the config file as discussed here

Sometimes people find it hard to find their Absolute Server Path, or just cannot be bothered to find out from their ISP.

SOLUTION : Please Click the read more after this post

 

 

Make a little script in your favortite text editor like the following

  

Save the file as a *.php (anyname)

After you have completed this upload it to the root of your server, open your browser and aim it towards the file you have just uploaded and there you have your absolute path.

Wow i have been having a hell of a time finding my absolute path with godaddy (my first problem smilies/smiley.gif ) and this script proved to be extremely helpful and the only one i was able to find! Great job!
