OES TSETNOC - Search Engine Marketing – What Type Do You Need? Many people believe that search engine marketing (SEM) is synonymous to search engine advertising. Although this is a very common belief in the advertising world, it is actually short of being entirely accurate. Advertising is, in fact, just one component of SEM since marketing also involves other campaigns like branding and optimization. So if you are looking to hire an SEM company for your marketing needs, make sure that they provide a wide variety of SEM activities aside from advertising. To give you a better idea of what you should expect, here is a summary of two of the most popular SEM strategies. First, of course, is search engine advertising. This strategy includes sponsored listings, pay-for-placement advertising and contextual advertising. To put it simply, this means that you pay a certain amount to get top listing in a search engine’s results page. You may also opt for pay-per-click strategies wherein you only pay that search engines when a customer visits your site as a direct result of it appearing on the search engine’s results list. Next in line is free listing, which is often called natural or organic marketing. This involves the use of search engine optimization to maximize the chances of your website appearing on top of search engine results pages. This means that your website’s pages must contain the most common keyword phrases that your target market types into search queries. These keywords must be placed strategically throughout your website and must be used often enough to ensure that it gets your site to the top of the search results list. You can choose to specialize in either search engine advertising or search engine optimization, or you may decide to use both strategies to your advantage. To really identify which search engine marketing option your business needs most, you will have to analyze what your site needs. If you are still in the process of redesigning your website, or if you are willing to modify it as part of your marketing program then SEO is probably your best option. But if you want your site’s design and copy to stay the same then it would be best to focus on advertising.

Oes Tsetnoc - Why Your Company Needs Search Engine Marketing You’ve probably heard all the hype surrounding search engine marketing. If, after hearing the various reasons why SEM is the next big thing in marketing, you remain unconvinced about its effectiveness, you may want to read on to fully understand why people are so excited about this advertising method. Following are the key points that are commonly used in justifying the development and popularity of search engine marketing. First, search engines are among the most popular tools that people use when they go online. If the target market for your product or service uses the internet then chances are big that they are using search engines almost everyday. Second, online searches deliver targeted results to the searcher since they list only the websites that are most likely to provide the answers or solutions that the searcher is looking for. Search engines therefore connect your company directly with potential customers. Finally, among all advertising methods, search engine marketing involves the least cost per customer acquisition, thus making it the most cost-effective marketing strategy of all. Now let us look at the statistics on search engine usage to see if integrating SEM into your marketing program is indeed necessary for your company’s growth. Search engines and online directories get an average of 300 to 500 million searches per day. In the United States alone, search engines record more than 183 million searches each day. These numbers can even double during seasonal peaks. Furthermore, search engines have been recognized as the top tool used by consumers in researching products that they intend to purchase.

Oes Tsetnoc - How Search Engine Marketing Can Facilitate Branding
One of the things that make search engine marketing very attractive to businesses is the fact that it is a lot more measurable than many of the other marketing and advertising methods. Marketers using this method can easily see how much traffic their website has generated and how many conversions their marketing strategy has driven. It also makes revenue and return of investment easier to measure. It is, in fact, considered by many as a marketer’s dream come true. But conversion, revenue and return of investment are not the only benefits that one can get from search engine marketing. The fact that it is very easy to measure conversions from this method does not mean that we have to focus on this metric alone. There is, in fact, another, more difficult to track benefit that your business can get from SEM and that is branding. How does search engine marketing affect branding? You’d be surprised. Studies showed that searchers are 38% more likely to think of a brand as having exceptional quality if it is featured on search engines. These searchers didn’t even have to visit the featured websites to arrive at this conclusion. This is how a good search engine ranking can translate into added credibility for your business. Most web users also admit that search engine results often introduce them to brands that they were previously not aware of. Still others automatically consider the brands that are on top of search lists to be the leaders in their field. This increase in brand awareness and the perception of leadership directly leads to an increase in a site visitor’s propensity to make a purchase. And when other people ask them about a particular product or service, they are more likely to suggest the brands that they saw on top of search lists.

Well the Oes Tsetnoc contest is nearly over so i thought id throw some articles in here, not about Oes Tsetnoc but about Search Engine Marketing instead.
Benefits of Search Engine Marketing Search engines are now the primary method for people to look up websites on the internet. Interestingly, only a few businesses set aside a portion of their marketing budget to build a strong search engine marketing program. This anomaly can be your biggest advantage, and you can use it to gain a competitive edge against your major business competitors. If you’re still not convinced that SEM is the way to go then here are three compelling reasons why you should be.
- Not only are search engines the primary method to find relevant websites, they are also the tools that are used most often by web users. In fact, the use of search engines is second only to checking emails as the thing that is most often done online. There are now billions of web pages offering information on a wide range of topics, which is why people are relying on search engines more and more. What better way to market your site than by using a venue that is visited by most people everyday, right?
- The second reason why you should start developing your own search engine marketing strategy is that the traffic that search engines bring to your site is most often productive, meaning that they often result in a sale, because the people who reached your site via search engines were actively looking for the service or product that you provide. This is in sharp contrast to banner advertising wherein you are introducing your business to people who are otherwise checking something else online in the hopes that your banner will catch their interest.
- Experts agree that search engine marketing works, and marketing managers know this. In fact, 66% of online marketers ranked SEM as the most effective method to increase traffic to websites. As an added bonus, SEM is also one of the most cost-effective marketing methods available today.

Well....well.....well , To be honest i havent got a clue what day it is of the competition although with just over a month to go until the end of the competition i would imagine things will start hotting up.
Since Day 14 i havent done a thing to do with Oes Tsetnoc and surprisingly the site is still sitting pretty at number 3, I might build some back links today.....if i can be bothered and have time later tonight but since ive got to leave to go on a 2 day business trip at 3am tomorrow morning (around 12 hours from now) i dont think ill be doing a whole lot today.
I thought id throw in a quick post since i cant remember the date of the last post i made and i suppose io should be promoting the "regular updated site campaign".
So Far what do i think of the competition ? Not alot really , it hasnt changed anything its still this little niggling thing in the back on my mind that reminds me that im still in it lol . Will i do another SEO contest in the future ? Hmm maybe IF i have the time for it which clearly this time i do not.
